Introduction to Long Exposure Photography

Thursday 14th March 2024 – 7.30pm til 9.30pm

Thursday 13th June  2024 5pm til 7pm

Are you fascinated with how long exposure photos are created? Have you wanted to learn how to paint with light? Come and spend an evening with me on my ‘Introduction to night photography workshop’. Held in Drouin, Vic you will learn how to do long exposure photography. We will be experimenting with light painting, understanding what camera settings you need to achieve various long exposure results and creating some super cool effects in-camera. It’s great fun and will give you an excellent understanding of long exposure/night photography.

You will need a DSLR and tripod for this workshop and have a little knowledge of your DSLR camera’s manual settings.

What to bring on the day:

  • You will need to bring your DSLR camera (and its manual if you have one)
  • empty memory cards
  • a tripod, (I can lend you one if you don’t have one) and a cable release is recommended, but only if you have one.
  • Fully charged camera batteries x2 as they will flatten quickly
  • a plastic bag or cloth (a freezer bag is ideal if you don’t have a dedicated rain shield bag) to protect your camera from moisture
  • a bag/backpack to carry your camera gear etc
  • a drink bottle for refreshment on the go
  • a torch and head lamp
  • Suitable clothing according to weather conditions and comfortable shoes for walking are required as it can be cold and you will be walking in the dark, but not far.
